The Truth About Tap Water: A Home Experiment with Our Water Distillers

To demonstrate its effectiveness, I decided to conduct a little home experiment. What I discovered was both eye-opening and, quite frankly, alarming.

The Experiment

I bought three 1-litre jars to visually showcase the contents of tap water before and after distillation:

1. Jar 1: Filled with 1 litre of tap water and left as is.
2. Jar 2: Filled with the leftover residue after distilling 10 litres of tap water.
3. Jar 3: Filled with the residue from distilling 50 litres of tap water.

The Results

As they say, a picture tells a thousand words. So here’s what I found:

• Jar 1: Looks clear and clean, just like any tap water would.
• Jar 2: Contains a small amount of murky residue, showing what was removed from just 10 litres.
• Jar 3: The residue is significantly more pronounced, revealing the buildup of contaminants after distilling 50 litres of tap water.

The technical term for what you see in Jars 2 and 3 is "ewww." These jars clearly illustrate the hidden contaminants that are present in our everyday tap water—substances that you and your family might be consuming.
